How to Find Saved Posts on Facebook (Desktop and Mobile)
You saved a post on Facebook to read later, and now you cannot remember where saved items live. Facebook keeps them in one place, but the menu layout changes between the website and the app, and it changes over time.
This guide explains what Facebook lets you save, where to look on desktop and mobile, and what to do when a saved item seems to be missing. Menu names and positions can differ by app version, language and account, so look for the label rather than counting on a position.
Where Facebook keeps your saved items
Facebook has a single Saved area for things you have chosen to keep, such as posts, videos and links. Saved items are tied to your account, so what you save on your phone is the same list you see on your computer.
Marketplace listings can be saved too, and they may be kept in their own saved list. If a listing is missing from Saved, check the Marketplace section.
How to find saved posts on desktop
- Open facebook.com and sign in.
- Look for Saved in the menu on the left side of the page. If you do not see it, look for a See more option to expand the menu.
- Open Saved.
- Browse the list. If the page shows filters or categories, use them to narrow things down by type.
If the left menu looks different on your account, try searching for "Saved" in the Facebook search bar.
How to find saved posts in the mobile app
The idea is the same on iPhone and Android.
- Open the Facebook app.
- Open the main menu (the menu icon, or your profile picture, depending on your app version).
- Look for Saved. If it is not on the first screen, look for See more.
- Open Saved and browse your items.
How to use collections to organize saves
Facebook lets you group saved items into collections, so a long list does not become a pile. Look for an option to add a saved item to a collection or to start a new one from the Saved page. The exact button label can vary, so check your own screen.
Keep collection names short and specific, such as "recipes" or "work reading", so you can tell at a glance where something belongs.
How to unsave or move an item
Open the item in your Saved list and use the menu next to it. You will normally find options to remove it from Saved or to change its collection. Removing an item from Saved does not delete the original post.
Why a saved post might be missing
A saved post can disappear from your list for a few reasons:
- The author may have deleted the post.
- Its privacy settings may have changed so you can no longer see it.
- The post may have been removed by Facebook.
A save is a pointer to the original, not a copy. If the original goes away, the shortcut may stop working. For anything important, copy the key points into your own notes.
Keeping Facebook saves alongside your other saves
If you save things on more than one platform, the Saved list on Facebook is only part of the picture. AgentMash (https://agentmash.ai) syncs saves from several platforms into one searchable library, and AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can search that library over MCP. The Free plan includes one platform and up to 300 saves; Pro unlocks more. See how AgentMash works with AI agents, or read the guides for Instagram and LinkedIn. More guides are on the AgentMash blog.
Frequently asked questions
Can other people see my saved posts on Facebook?
Saving is meant as a personal bookmark, but check the privacy options for the item you saved and for collections you may have shared. If you share a collection, the people you share it with can see what is in it.
Why did a saved post disappear?
The author may have deleted it, its privacy may have changed, or it may have been removed. A saved item points to the original post, so when the original is gone, the saved entry may go with it.
Can I save posts from groups?
You can usually save a post you can see in a group. If the group is later made private to you or the post is removed, it may no longer appear in your list.
Can I export my saved posts?
Facebook offers tools to download a copy of your information. What is included can change, so check the options in your own account settings before relying on it.
Where are saved videos on Facebook?
Saved videos appear in the same Saved area as posts and links. Use any filters or categories shown on that page to see only videos.
How AgentMash works
- Add the Chrome extension. It reads your saves with your own logged-in session.
- Pick your platforms and click Sync. Sync is manual, and nothing runs in the background.
- Search or ask your AI agent. Your saves land in one library that agents can search over MCP.
The Free plan includes up to 300 saves, and Pro unlocks more.
