Before you start
- You need an AgentMash account. If you have not set one up yet, Add to Chrome and pick your platforms (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook), or sign up free.
- You do not need any saves to connect. With an empty library your agent simply gets empty results until your first sync.
- Imports are manual. Saves arrive in your library when you click Sync in the extension, and nothing runs in the background. Click Sync again whenever you want newer saves available to your agent.
- Your MCP URL is the same for every client:
https://agentmash.ai/mcp(Streamable HTTP). - You connect with an API key. It starts with
am_live_and you create it in AgentMash. There is no browser sign-in step for MCP. - MCP works on the Free plan. See what counts as an agent call below.
- AgentMash is read-only. Your agent can search and read your saves. It never posts for you.
Step 1: Create your API key
- In AgentMash, open the Agents & API page and click Create API key. (Onboarding offers the same thing as Create my agent key.)
- Copy the key right away. AgentMash shows it only once.
- Pick your client below. The Agents & API page fills your key into each ready-to-copy snippet for you. The snippets in this guide use
am_live_YOUR_KEYas a placeholder.
Your key is sent as an Authorization: Bearer <key> header. For clients that cannot set headers, add ?token=<key> to the end of the URL instead.
Step 2: Add AgentMash to your client
Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http agentmash https://agentmash.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer am_live_YOUR_KEY"
The first successful call from your agent shows up in AgentMash under Recent agent activity.
Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop connects through the mcp-remote bridge, so you need Node (with npx) installed. Add this to your claude_desktop_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentmash": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://agentmash.ai/mcp",
"--header", "Authorization: Bearer am_live_YOUR_KEY"]
}
}
}
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentmash": {
"url": "https://agentmash.ai/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer am_live_YOUR_KEY" }
}
}
}
Codex
Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.agentmash]
url = "https://agentmash.ai/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "AGENTMASH_API_KEY"
Then set AGENTMASH_API_KEY to your am_live_ key in your shell, for example export AGENTMASH_API_KEY=am_live_YOUR_KEY.
OpenClaw
Run this command:
openclaw mcp add agentmash https://agentmash.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer am_live_YOUR_KEY"
Any other MCP client
AgentMash works with any client that supports Streamable HTTP MCP servers. In your client's MCP server settings, add a remote server with these values:
URL https://agentmash.ai/mcp
Auth Authorization: Bearer am_live_YOUR_KEY
(or append ?token=am_live_YOUR_KEY to the URL)
If your client only supports local (stdio) servers, use the mcp-remote bridge shown in the Claude Desktop section.
ChatGPT and claude.ai custom connectors
Not supported yet. AgentMash connects with an API key and does not offer a browser sign-in for MCP.
If your client does not show the tools after you add the server, restart the client.
Check that it works
- Ask your agent: "What did I save about pricing?"
- Open the Agents & API page in AgentMash. Your call appears in the Recent agent activity list, with the tool, the query and the number of results.
To check what has been imported, open the Sources page or the Library page, or ask your agent to run list_sources.
The six tools
Once connected, your agent can use these tools. All are read-only.
| Tool | What it does | Key parameters |
|---|---|---|
search_saves | Searches your saves. Leave the query out to list your newest saves first. Matches by meaning when your plan includes semantic search, otherwise by keyword. | query, platform, kind, author (handle without @), collection_id, saved_within_days, limit (1 to 50, default 10), offset |
get_save | Gets one save in full: complete text, transcript where one exists, stats, links, media and collections. | id (required) |
recent_saves | Lists saves from the last few days. | days (default 7), platform, limit (default 20) |
list_sources | Lists the platforms in your library, with saves per platform, last sync and whether a login is needed. | none |
list_collections | Lists your collections with their names, platform and number of saves. | none |
get_collection_saves | Gets the saves inside one collection. | collection_id (required), limit (default 20), offset |
Each save comes back with its link, platform, kind, author, text, post date and saved_at. Note that saved_at is when AgentMash first synced the save, not when you saved it on the platform. Your agent is asked to cite each save with its link.
Example prompts
Try these once you are connected:
- "What did I save about pricing?" (The prompt AgentMash suggests. Your agent searches your saves, then answers from them with a link to each one.)
- "What makes a launch post work?"
- "Show me my most recent saves."
- "Which platforms do I have saves from?"
- "What is in my collections? Summarize the first one."
Calls and limits
- One successful tool call, or one successful REST API call, is one agent call. Connecting (initialize and the tools list), unauthorized calls and failed calls do not count.
- The Free plan includes 50 agent calls a month. Pro has unlimited calls. See pricing on the homepage.
- The count resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
- The Settings page shows "Agent calls this month".
Troubleshooting
The agent says it has no AgentMash tools.
Check that the URL is exactly https://agentmash.ai/mcp, with no extra spaces or trailing characters, and that your key is in the header or in ?token=. Restart the client if the tools do not appear. For Claude Desktop, make sure Node and npx are installed, because the mcp-remote bridge needs them.
The agent says "Unauthorized. Create an API key in AgentMash → Agents & API."
The key is missing, wrong or cut short. A key starts with am_live_ and is a long string of characters, so a truncated paste fails. Copy it again. If you lost it, create a new key on the Agents & API page, because AgentMash shows a key only once.
A key that worked has stopped working.
It may have been revoked. Revoked keys stop working within about a minute. Create a new key on the Agents & API page and update your client.
Answers are empty or too thin.
The agent only sees what is in your library. If a platform is not in your library yet, its posts will not appear. Check the Sources page or Library page, or ask your agent to run list_sources. Imports are manual, so click Sync to bring in new saves. The Free plan covers one platform and a single cap of 300 saves across all platforms combined. Pro covers all 6 platforms with unlimited saves.
Calls stop working part way through the month.
On the Free plan, 50 calls apply. Once they are used up, your agent gets a tool error: "The Free plan includes 50 agent calls a month, and this month's are used up. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited calls," with a link to upgrade. The count resets on the 1st of the month (UTC).
I want to disconnect an agent.
Open the Agents & API page and click Revoke on the key. Agents using that key stop working within about a minute. Your other keys keep working.

Frequently asked questions
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI agents to connect to outside tools and data. AgentMash gives your agent one URL and an API key, so it can search the saves in your library.
Which agents work with AgentMash?
Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Claude Desktop (through the mcp-remote bridge), OpenClaw and any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP. AgentMash generates ready-to-copy setup for each of these on the Agents & API page. ChatGPT and claude.ai custom connectors are not supported yet.
Do I need an API key?
Yes. Create one on the Agents & API page and send it as an Authorization: Bearer header, or as ?token= on the URL if your client cannot set headers. There is no browser sign-in for MCP.
Can my agent post or change my saves?
No. AgentMash is read-only and never posts for you. All six tools are read-only.
Can I cut off an agent's access?
Yes. AgentMash's MCP tools are read-only, and you can revoke a key anytime on the Agents & API page. Agents using that key stop working within about a minute.
Is MCP access free?
Yes. MCP works on the Free plan, which includes 50 agent calls a month, one platform and a single cap of 300 saves across all platforms combined. Pro has unlimited agent calls and all 6 platforms. See pricing on the homepage.
